New jobs created at Bocam Park

South Wales developer Macob has welcomed two new occupiers to Bocam Park in Pencoed.

Thomson Local has opened a new regional sale centre at the 200,000 sq ft business park creating 25 new jobs.

The local business search company is promoting its online products and services to the South Wales market and further afield from its new 3,000 sq ft base.

Gavin Cox, Telesales Manager, Thomson Local said: "We are very pleased to have opened at Bocam Park. The South Wales market offers us significant expansion opportunities and we have recruited an excellent workforce from the Bridgend area."

With its head office in Farnborough, Thomson Local employs 750 at 10 regional sales offices throughout the UK.

In a separate deal, specialist training company ISA Training has moved to larger offices at Pencoed.

ISA Training, set up in 1998, was launched by Shirley Davis-Fox and Susan Adams. It specialises in the delivery of in-salon hairdressing qualifications throughout Wales and Gloucester as well as business and management courses. The firm also works in partnership with schools and local education authorities to provide pre and post-16 education programmes.

Now with 57 staff, ISA has outgrown its offices on Court Road in Bridgend town centre and the 5,793 sq ft office on Field Road at Bocam Park will help the company realise its growth plans. ISA has also unveiled a new brand identity.

Managing Director Shirley Davis-Fox said: "Our new office is just one part of the jigsaw as we look to expand the business. We are in the process of rolling out a new corporate brand identity that reflects the creative vibrancy of ISA Training."

Both join a number of high profile occupiers already in occupation here including Welsh Blood Service, office stationery firm Staedtler, accountancy firm Clay Shaw Thomas and SG Mercedes.

Wayne Rees, Director at Macob said: "We are pleased to welcome Thomson Local and  ISA Training to Bocam Park. Both properties offer high quality office accommodation with a mixture of open plan space and smaller partitioned offices.  We wish both companies continued success at Bocam Park."

Speaking about Thomson Local’s office search, he said: "Part of Thomson Local’s requirement was for a office with Virgin Media connectivity. No other site in Bridgend was able to accommodate this but Macob pulled out all the stops and installed the necessary communication facilities for the business."

Emanuel Jones and Lambert Smith Hampton are the joint agents for Bocam Park.  Rob Emanuel at Emanuel Jones said: "Whilst the market place continues to remain challenging, there are still deals being done on quality properties close to the M4. There are a number of buildings in Bridgend that have been empty for a number of years, but Bocam Park is still attracting interest and deals are being signed."

David Blyth at Lambert Smith Hampton added: "The office development comprises two built phases and a further phase in the planning stages. The first phase totalling 64,500 sq ft is fully occupied and the second 70,000 sq ft phase has 26,000 sq ft remaining in units ranging from 1,200 sq ft upwards. We are in negotiations on 4,500 sq ft of the remaining available space and are close to agreeing terms."
