Stroke Association Chooses Greenmeadow Springs

The Stroke Association has relocated its Wales operation to new offices at Greenmeadow Springs business park situated just off junction 32 on the M4 in Cardiff.

The Stroke Association is the only UK-wide charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. It funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its rehabilitation and support services.

The charity has taken a 4,247 sq ft unit on the second phase of the development being developed by Cardiff-based Macob. Work is well advanced on phase two which will create a further 80,000 sq ft of various sized units.

The Stroke Association was attracted to Greenmeadow Springs because of the easily accessible location, according to Trish Hughes, General Manager for Wales at The Stroke Association.

She said

"We wanted to relocate to a new property without having to move too far from our previous location in Whitchurch which has served us well for the past 15 years.   We believe that the relocation to this building will give better access for the stroke community we support.

Trish continued

"The excellent facilities will enable us to use the building not only as office accommodation but as a resource centre  and headquarters for The Stroke Association in Wales. Greenmeadow Springs is superbly located just off the M4 and close to the A470, and we are delighted with the new offices."

Wayne Rees, Technical Director for Macob, said

"The Stroke Association is the first occupier to move into phase two and will shortly be joined by Leonard Cheshire, another charity organisation. Greenmeadow Springs has established itself as a leading out of town business park development in South East Wales.  The park is now home to a number of prestigious businesses including Barratt, Connaught, Nationwide Building Society, Cadarn Housing Association, Ashtenne and Bank of England."

Agents for Greenmeadow Springs are DTZ and Emanuel Jones.  Gary Carver of DTZ said

"The Stroke Association were attracted by the quality of the office, with its excellent views over Cardiff and the location.  We have strong interest in the other buildings in phase two, with two occupiers committed and one other under offer."

Rob Emanuel of Emanuel Jones added

"Greenmeadow Springs is a popular choice thanks to the high standard of accommodation, ample parking, excellent transport links and good amenities close by including the Village and Quality hotels and Asda. There is a good level of interest in the available accommodation and we are currently talking to a number of businesses from professional and public sector organisations."
