Wales' first PPP primary school
Pembroke Dock Community School in West Wales was the first PPP primary school to be procured in Wales and was officially opened by HRH The Queen in 2001.
The £6.6m, 57,400 sq ft scheme in Pembroke Dock provides modern accommodation and up-to-date information technology facilities for its 450 pupils aged 3-11. There is also a sporting and nursery provision and a specialist unit for autistic children.
The PPP primary replaces the Pembroke Dock Primary School, which has needed a new building for many years. The school also replaces Pembroke Dock Infants School.
The community school houses a new nursery school, a public information centre and a council office.The scheme won an award for Best Operational Education Project at the Public:Private Awards in 2005.
